Zimbabwe batsman Ryan Burl has drawn attention to the bad condition of the country’s cricket. The 27-year-old cricketer has sent a passionate appeal to bring sponsors to the team by posting a picture of torn shoes on social media.

Left-handed middle-order batsman Burl has played three Tests, 18 One Day Internationals and 25 T20 Internationals for Zimbabwe. He has tweeted a picture of his shoes, glue and some accessories to fix it.

When some cricket boards are earning millions of dollars from sponsorship, Burl tweeted and asked, “Is there a possibility that we will get a sponsor so that we don’t have to stick our shoes after every series.”

Burl’s appeal worked –

Burley’s appeal worked and Puma, one of the top footwear manufacturers, responded to this and promised sponsorship. Reacting to Burley’s tweet, Puma Cricket wrote on the social media platform – The time has come to throw away the glue, we will help you.
