We all want to stay fit but when told to exercise, some of us just forget the idea of being fit. Because when we hear the word exercise, we think of being breathless and all sweaty. However, this isn’t the case. The good news is that any form of physical activity is considered to be an exercise. It just should get your blood flowing and walking does the job pretty well. The only thing that you should make sure is that you do it for considerable amount of time.
By this I mean that just walking for 5-10 minutes after the meal won’t be enough. You should spare some time especially for walking every day and it should be anywhere between 45 minutes to 1 hour 30 minutes. Only then it can benefit you and show the result you will be looking for. This should be on the top of the regular walk you do every day.
Keep three things in mind when you walk
- Preferably, you should do it in the morning because oxygen content in the air is maximum in the morning and more oxygen means better health of the organs and brain. Also, the peace that the morning provides you is just one positive side effect of it.
- Make sure you do it on an empty stomach. Doing it in the morning is also important because you haven’t eaten anything the whole night so for walking, your body will use the stored fat as the energy source and burn it fast. No matter what, make it a morning habit. However, if on some days, for some reason you can’t then the evening is fine but make sure you are an empty stomach.
- Wear loose clothes while you walking so that along with your lungs, your skin can breathe too. Also, being comfortable is very important so that walking is the only struggle your body has to do.
