Germany’s female judo athlete is facing an unwelcome controversy. In fact, before the fight in the Tokyo Olympics, a picture of Martyna Trajdos went viral in which her coach was seen slapping her on the cheek.
Martena’s match was with Hungarian women’s player Jofi Ozbas. It was a judo match of Round 32 in the women’s 63 kg category. In a viral clip, Martena is seen passing by with her coach Claudeau Pusa before coming on the mat.

Pusha grabs Martena’s shoulders and pats her on the back. After this, they slap on his left and right cheeks. Martena then goes for the fight. However, in this fight, the Hungarian player dominated and Martena had to face defeat.
However, Martena, 32, had no idea that she would make headlines not because of her defeat but because of some other reason. With the video going viral on social media, many internet users criticized Martena’s coach. He has posted a video on Instagram and has also supported his coach in the caption of this post.

She wrote in the caption of this post on Instagram – I wish I could make a headline about my victory but it could not happen. I think a lot of focus is being put on this issue, while the truth is that this is my process and I myself advocated this process before the match.

She has also posted a story on Instagram. It was written in this story- Friends, do not take tension. This is my process which I do before every fight. My coach was doing exactly what I wanted. As I do this, I feel a lot of energy.
She further wrote- Please all of you guys stop blaming my coach. I needed it because it makes me feel very active and mentally ready for the fight.
It is worth noting that Hungary’s Ozbas also won the round of 16 match after defeating Martena. However, she lost the match to Maria Centracio of Italy. Maria won the bronze medal while Slovenian athlete Tina Turstanjek won the silver medal. French athlete Clarice managed to win gold.
