The Krishna Janmashtami is also known as Gokul Ashtmi. According to Ancient Hindu recognition Lord Krishna was born on 8th day of krishna paksh (dark fortnight) in shravana or bhadrapad on Rohini Nakshatra, that’s why we Indians celebrate janmashtami every day on the same day with auspicious time and day.
Janmashtmi is an important festival among the Hindus across India.It marks the birth of Lord Krishna (the eighth avatar of Lord Vishnu )
This year, we will celebrate Janmashtmi 2021 on August 30, 2021 .Some people will also celebrate it on 31st August.

The Krishna Janmashtmi is very important festival of Hindus and we also keep fast on this day.Those who keep fast, break their fast on the next day after midnight.We worship Lord Krishna by singing songs and aarti of Lord Vishnu and Shri Krishna.The devotees sung shlokas. The temples are decorated with lights and flowers. The Jagrans held in temples and on the streets, dramas perform .
Even the Schools celebrated this auspicious day by dressing the small students in Lord Krishna and Radha dress ,and dance performances takes place.Another major thing that happen is Dahi Handi.
People who keep fasting on this day eat only fruits and dry fruits.
On the auspicious time and day firstly, bathe Lord Krishna statues with a mixture of milk, curd and honey after it, that mixture called as charnamrit (which is used to break the fast of that time), then clothed him and placed in a cradle.
Singing devotional songs and aarti of Lord Krishna. Offer Makhan Mishri and Makhana ( Fox Nut )kheer with tulsi leaf.
