The government of Tamil Nadu, on Friday, announced the extension of the lockdown by another week, ending on July 12 at 6 am. There were already some relaxations but for this extended period of lockdown, government has announced more relaxations.
During this one week, inter-state private and bus transport, international air-travel, cinema, bars, swimming pools, entertainment, social meets, zoological parks will stay prohibited.
In a statement issued by M K Staling said, “Considering the livelihood and essential needs of the people, and the economy of the state, all the districts will have uniform relaxations from July 5. The previous relaxations will continue to remain in the rest of the state, except the containment zones. All shops that were permitted earlier to operate until 7 will be allowed till 8om.”
The facility of dining in has been allowed in restaurants, hotels, bakeries and other places will be allowed between 6 am and 8 pm with enough ventilation in the place. This allowance is for only 50% while following the standard operating procedure. Tea shops will also be allowed to open with 50% seating capacity.
Gyms, yoga centres, hotels, lodges, guest houses and IT/ITES will be allowed with 50% capacity and/or 50% workforce.
Museums, excavation sites and archaeological monuments will open between 10 am and 5 pm.
All these allowances do not apply to the areas that are declared containment zones.
