Before the tour of England, the Indian team suffered a major setback. Opener Shubman Gill is likely to be ruled out of the five-match Test series due to injury. However, it is yet to be revealed.

The five-match Test series is to start from August 4, so there is still a month’s time. Nothing is yet clear about Shubman Gill’s injury. It is being said that he is troubled by a calf, hamstring injury.

According to a news agency, if Shubman Gill is not available for the Test series, then 25-year-old Bengal opener Abhimanyu Easwaran can be added in his place. Recently, Shubman Gill could not do anything special with the bat in the final of the World Test Championship. Team India lost this match to New Zealand by 8 wickets.

Shubman Gill is set to stay in England, where he will be supervised by physio Nitin Patel and strength and conditioning coach Soham Desai. At the moment it is not clear whether Gill needs surgery ahead of the England series.

Here, a senior BCCI official said- “There is a possibility that Shubman Gill may be ruled out of the entire Test tour, even though there is still a month left, we have come to know that the injury is serious.”

A five-match Test series will be played between India and England from August 4 to September 14. The five-match Test series between India and England will begin in Nottingham on August 4.

The second Test match will be played on 12 August at the historic ground of Lord’s. The third Test match will be held in Leeds on 25 August. The fourth Test will be held at the Oval in London on September 2. The fifth and last Test match will be held in Manchester on 10 September.
