To review the shortage of oxygen supply, PM Narendra Modi chaired a high-level meeting today. Second wave of coronavirus was already threatening enough. Now we have shortage of oxygen which has made this matter graver.
The PM spoke about the need to work rapidly on multiple aspects: increasing production of oxygen, increasing the speed of distribution and using innovative ways to provide oxygen support to health facilities,” said a release from the Prime Minister’s Office.
The officials told the PM about the efforts being done to improve the supply. The availability of oxygen has been increased significantly.
PM Modi, on Tuesday, while addressing the nation, did acknowledge the shortage in the supply of oxygen. He assured that the centre, states and private companies are doing all that they can to make it available on priority basis.
The cases are rising like a forest fire. Today, India recorded over 3.14 lakh cases and 2104 deaths. This is the highest recorded number of cases so far for any country all over the world since the start of this pandemic.
PM was informed about the rising demand of oxygen from the states. Also that officers are working with the states to make 162 sanctioned oxygen plants functions promptly.
