A case has been registered against Baba Ramdev by Chhattisgarh Police for allegedly spreading rumors about the Covid-19 medicines.
Raipur Police superintendent Ajay Yadav said that the FIR was lodged after receiving the complaint against Ramdev from Chairman of IMA Board Rakesh Gupta and some other doctors. On Wednesday night, a case was filed under sections 188, 269 and 504.
Rakesh Gupta accused Ramdev of spreading misinformation about approved and established treatment methods among people.
“The Chhattisgarh Police has taken the right step by registering a case against Ramdev, who is flouting all norms and international guidelines by misleading people of this country. Strict action should be taken against Ramdev for this act,” said Gupta.
Ramdev has been in the news for his statement against aloopathy which he later withdrew hours after Union health minister Harsh Vardhan asked him to take it back. Ramdev attracked a lot of criticism for saying that about 10,000 doctors died in spite of vaccination. Around 600 doctores died in the second wave and around 700 in the first one.
IMA says that during the first wave, there was no vaccine around and the doctor who died in the second wave couldn’t take vaccinate shots.
On 1st June, after several medical associations started black ribbon protest against Ramdev’s remarks, he said that his statement was misunderstood and blown out of proportion.
