Punjab in partial lockdown for two weeks

It had only been two days that the CM Amarinder Singh had ruled out the possibility of a lockdown when the news of partial lockdown was announced on Sunday. It started from Sunday, May 2 till May 15.

During this time, all the shops shall remain close except the ones selling essential items, milk products, bread, vegetables, poultry, medicines and mobile repairing shops. No curbs are there on nursing homes and laboratories.

Although while giving orders the work “Lockdown” was not used. The guidelines clearly show that a partial lockdown has been imposed.

All the four-wheelers will not be allowed to have more than 2 passengers. For scooters and bikes, no pillion riders are allowed expect those of the same family. All the vehicles carrying patients to the hospitals shall be exempted.

Entering the state will not be allowed by any means such as air, rail or road without having a negative Covid report. Not more than 72 hours old, or vaccination certificate.

Sabzi mandis wil remain open to wholesalers while following the social distancing and other safety measures. All the banks will function with 50% employees and all the religious places shall close at 6 PM.

Punjab has imposed night curfew and weekend lockdown. The night curfew is from 6 PM to 5 AM. And the weekend lockdown only allows the essential shops to remain open.
