Nowadays web series are getting engulfed in controversies. The first one released on Prime Video was Tandava. But this time, a web series of Netflix, Bombay Begums, has got into controversies. In this series, controversy has arisen due to the improper appearance of the character of the children. On which the National Commission for Protection of Child Rights (NCPCR) has issued a notice to Netflix asking it to stop streaming.
On this controversy, writer Shobhaa Dey has tweeted that people should not talk like this anymore. Shobha has written, “Grow up guys. Stop denying these things. Call it boring but why ban? Netflix has been told to stop streaming Bombay Begums when children are portrayed.”
Let me tell you that actress Adhya Anand has played the role of a small child named Shay. In this, some such things have been shown as it talks about the body of the remaining 13-year-old women. She is seen smoking cigarettes and is also seen taking alcohol and drugs in the party. With this, all these are being increasingly shared in social media.
“Netflix should take extra care in relation to children or when streaming any content for children. You are ordered to watch the matter and immediately stop streaming of this series within 24 hours and to submit a detailed report. If it does not, the Commission will be obliged to take appropriate action under the provisions of Section 14 of the CPCR Act, 2005. “
