Another robbery has been reported in Noida. An editor-in-chief, Atul Agrawal of a Hindi news channel was waylaid by 5 who were on two bikes. The victim was travelling in his SUV and got robbed at gunpoint in sector 49.
They only robbed him and fortunately spared his life. He shared about this incident through a Facebook post. Atul also said that they spared his Safari car after they saw the press sticker on the windscreen.
Atul was robbed in the intervening night of June 19-20. He was stopped about 300 meters ahead of the Rise Police chownki to check his car’s music system.
“All of the accused were masked and one of them got down and pulled the car’s door towards him. Since the car was locked, it could not open and he banged the car’s window forcefully asking to pull down the window. When I dilly-dallied to pull down the window, he took out a pistol..” Atul wrote.
“I opened the door and he made me come out at gunpoint and himself sat on the driver’s seat even as the others covered me,” he added.
They took his chain, ring, watch, money and mobile. The cash was around 5000-6000 INR. When he gave his phone, he told them that he was a journalist and his all the details and IMEI are registered with Union government. So, they threw his phone on the seat of the car before speeding away.
DCP of Noida says they are probing the incident.
