Mumbai Indians are now being primarily being sponsored by DHL Express, which is an international express service provider, making it their first cricket sponsorship.
DHL already has sponsored many sports format before ranging from Rugby to Formula one race and even some e-sports. It is remarkable that they are coming forward to support T-20 cricket. RS Subramanian, Senior VP and MD of DHL Express India said, “Cricket is a game that is well-loved and followed with ardent devotion in India, and many nations across the world. It, therefore, gives me great pleasure to come on board”
A Mumbai Indians spokesperson said, “We are delighted to partner with global brand DHL Express. The combination of DHL Express’ international market network, and Mumbai Indians’ global fan following, brings in a unique dimension to our partner association program, allowing both brands to leverage its vast consumer interface.” He even said that they all are proud that brands like DHL preferred to partner with Mumbai Indians.
So far Mumbai Indians has been sponsored by three international brands namely, Marriott International, Cadbury and Samsung and DHL Express becomes the fourth one to do it. Having such a brand sponsoring T-20 crickets makes it kind of evolutionary for this format of sport and we are sure that every Indian would feel the same about this collaboration.
