Maha Kumbh second royal bath in Hardiwar

Sages from different parts of the country have gathered in Haridwar. Today to take a dip in the holy river Ganga as it is the second royal bath of Maha kumbh.

During this holy bath, nobody seems to be following any Covid-related guidance and safety rules.

None of the sages or devotees can be seen wearing masks. Because people are gathered in large number, there is no possibility of maintaining social distancing. Even police are seen to be incapable of making people follow the rules.

It is said that around 50,000 people have been tested and out of those, many sages have been tested Corona positive.

IG Sanjay Gunjyal said that police have been requesting people to follow the safety guidelines. But due to the presence of people in such a large number, it is naturally impossible to do a Chalan. In such times, it is not possible to follow social distancing.

The reason why state is worried is because just a day prior to this royal bath, Uttrakhand saw 1333 positive cases out of which Dehradoon had 582; Haridwar 386 and Nanital 122. On Sunday, 9 people from Har ki pauri ghat were found Corona positive.
