A day after easing restriction in 55 districts, the UP state government has lifted the lockdown in 6 more states. Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, while addressing a press conference, said that the curfew in those districts will come to an end which report less than 600 active Covid cases.
“Curfew will continue in districts that have more than 600 active COVID-19 cases for one more week. When active cases will come under 600 the curfew will end automatically. We’ve eased restrictions in 55 districts from 7 am to 7 pm,” CM Yogi said on Sunday.
On May 22, the UP government extended the statewide lockdown which was going to end on May 31. This applies to those districts which have been getting more than 600 active cases of coronavirus.
As per the on-going restrictions, essential services, medical and emergency movement, industrial acivities and vaccinations are allowed to function.
Till Sunday, after reporting new 1900 active cases, the number of total active cases in UP are 41,000. UP has the lowest fatality rate, positivity rate and highest recovery rate among all other states in India.
UP has been following all the Covid safety guidelines and protocols at all public places. Screening of all the passengers with antigen tests have been made compulsory.
