In trying to keep the rising cases of coronavirus in control, another state announces lockdown. Kerala to keep the state shut from May 8 to May 16.
Kerala has the second highest number of cases coming up every day. Due to overburdened health institutes, the government decided to impose a lockdown.
All the essential shops will remain open during this period. Ration shop will also be allowed to open. Banks, insurance and financial services can open form 10 AM to 1 PM with minimal staff.
Along with the above-mentioned services, print and electronic media, cable service, telecom, internet services, broadcasting and cable service, IT shall also remain open with conditions.
Delivery of essential items will be allowed through e-commerce and home delivery will also be permitted. Many other places are allowed to open such as petrol pump, LPG, storage outlets, storage and warehouse services, Private security services, repair services, marine fishing, taxi services, aquaculture and palliative care services.
On the other hand, all the roadways and waterways transport service will stay suspended except fire, law and order, emergency services, taxis and autos. Railway and Airway shall remain operational.
All Government of India offices will stay shut except Defence, Central Armed Police Forces, Treasury, Public utilities, Disaster management, Power generation, Postal department, post offices, National informatics centre, Early warning agencies, Food Corporation of India, Indian Meteorological department, Doordarshan, All India Radio, Central Water Commission, National Cyclone Risk Mitigation Project, Airport Authority of India, Railway, Seaport, Airport.
The state government offices hall remain close except Health, LSGD, Food and Civil Supplies, Industries, Labor, Zoo, Kerala IT mission, Ayush Revenue, Irrigation, Social Justice Institution, Veterinary services, Printing, Insurance Medical Services, Excise, Home Guards, Police, Fire and emergency services and Civil defence.
All the medical and health establishments shall remain operational such as hospitals, chemists, dispensaries etc.
