CEO Gary Pruit said on Israel destroyed Gaza tower
AP President and CEO Gary Pruit said, “We are shocked and horrified that the Israeli military would target and destroy the building housing AP’s bureau and other news organizations in Gaza. The world will know less about what is happening in Gaza because of what happened today.”
Hamas has recently fired more than 2,000 rockets at Israel in its latest violence. Palestinians medics say that at least 139 people have been killed in Gaza which included 39 children.
Al Jazeera carried a report on its English-language website about the strike. The journalist Safwat al-Kahlout was quoted saying, “I have been working here for 11 years. I have been covering many events from this building, we have lived personal professional experiences. Now everything, in two seconds, just vanished.”
Video of the after strike show the damage done. The social media is now filled with the pictures and videos of the strike.
