India-England Manchester Test match canceled, Corona crisis does not increase, so both boards decided

India Vs England, 5th Test Match Update: The fifth and last Test match between India and England to be played at Old Trafford ground in Manchester from Friday has been cancelled. The board has taken this decision due to the increase in the cases of corona infection in the series. Till the fourth test match, Team India was leading 2-1 in the series.

The England Cricket Board also confirmed the cancellation of the fifth Test, saying, “Following ongoing talks with the BCCI, the ECB confirms that the match between the men of England and India begins at Emirates Old Trafford today. The fifth test match has been cancelled. Due to the fear of further increase in the number of Kovid-19 cases, India is unable to field a team.

The meeting was going on between the BCCI officials on Friday, in which the possibilities of postponement and for how many days was it being discussed, but then later it was decided to cancel the fifth Test match.

Earlier, Dinesh Karthik had also said that the fifth Test match will not be played from Friday. He tweeted and wrote that there will be no game today. He wrote, “No play today, ok Tata, bye-bye.”

Let us inform you that Team India’s head coach Ravi Shastri and three members of the support staff got infected with the corona virus during the fourth Test against England. Meanwhile, another new case of corona was revealed in the team. Assistant physio Yogesh Parmar was also found infected with Kovid-19 before the fifth test match.

On the previous day, the RT-PCR test of corona of all the players of Team India was done, which came negative. After this, both the boards had agreed to start the match at the fixed time i.e. from Friday. But then in the board talks, it was decided to postpone the last Test match.

Team India was ahead 2-1 till the fourth test match

Till the fourth test match, Team India was leading 2-1 in the series. However, now the fifth Test match has been canceled due to the increasing infection of Corona. If Team India under the leadership of Virat Kohli had captured this series, he would have become the first Indian captain to win series against both Australia and England.
