On one side, the business has been closed due to the second wave of corona. And due to this, lockdown has also been imposed in many cities. But in all these, more than 1 lakh crore GST collection has come in the account of the government for the seventh consecutive month.
Highest collection ever
Let me tell you that the gross collection of the government in April 2021 has been Rs. 141384 crores. This is the most gusted collection of any month. There was a collection of 1.24 crore in March 2021. The collection for the month of April broke the record for the March collection.
GST tax is divided into three categories. The first is Central GST, second is State GST and third is Integrated GST. Let me tell you that in April CGST collection was Rs 27837 crore and SGST collection was Rs 35621 crore. The collection of IGST stood at 68481 crores.
14% over March collection
According to the finance ministry news, the collection for April shows an improvement in the GST collection released for the last six months which is 14% higher than the March collection. At the same time, this is the 7th consecutive month when the government’s monthly GST collection has crossed Rs 1 lakh crore.
