Government Introduces New Rules for Covid Testing

Due to the rapid rise in the cases of coronavirus, there has been a tremendous amount of pressure on the labs that test for Coronavirus. Therefore, to ease the pressure a bit, the central government has revised the Covid-testing rules in the country.

Government said that the number of labs that are working under pressure. Because of the rapid rise in cases is over 2500.  To provide them some relief, government has said that people travelling between states who are healthy must not be tested.

“The need for RT-PCR test in healthy individuals undertaking inter-state domestic travel may be completely removed to reduce the load on laboratories,” the centre said in a circular to states.

They added, “No testing is required for COVID-19 recovered individuals at the time of hospital discharge.”

Government urges people with Covid symptoms to avoid travelling to reduce the risk of spreading the virus. All the asymptomatic individuals must follow the safety guidelines while travelling for any reason.

All these rules have been revised, keeping in the mind the current situation of the country. India has been reporting over 3.5 lakh cases daily for a week. On the top of which, oxygen shortage is another problem that has been claiming lives.

Heart-breaking stories of people passing away and not getting a ground to be cremated in have been coming up. Therefore, following the safety guidelines is the least everybody can do to help reduce the spread of virus from their side.
