In January 2020, a student from Kerala’s Thrissur who had been enrolled in a medical college in China returned to India and tested positive for coronavirus. She was the first patient of Covid in India and now she has been tested positive again for Coronavirus. A health official announced it on Tuesday and this time she is asymptomatic.
“She has been tested positive and under quarantine at her home. None of the family members have tested positive so far,” said Thrissur district medical officer K J Reena. She also said that re-infection is not something new and even some health workers have been infected the second time.
She tested positive when she got retested before she was going to travel to Delhi. She and her family both are showing no symptoms and she has also gotten the first shot of the Covidd-19 vaccine.
Back in January,2020, she spent almost in a month in the hospital undergoing treatment for coronavirus. Since then she has been in India as China has still not allowed Indian students to come back to Beijing because of the pandemic.
She shared that she had not imagined herself being infected but when she did, all that she cared about was her family members and other people she met after coming back home. She has to spend 24 days in isolation from January 27 to Feb 20, and wear personal protective equipment.
