Farmers Protesters uprooted barricades in Panchkula
Violent clashes broke out between farmers and police in Panchkula, Haryana. In Chandigarh, thousands of farmers had left Panchkula for a memorandum to the Governor of Haryana. On the way, the police had put up barricades to stop them. The angry farmers uprooted the barricades and moved on. Not only barricading, the police had also installed cement beams to stop the farmers.
Police stopped in Lucknow
In Lucknow too, when the farmer organizations came out to submit the memorandum to the Governor, the police stopped them before Bapu Bhawan by putting up barricades. However, later more than half a dozen farmer leaders met the governor and submitted a memorandum. The farmers said that till the black laws are not withdrawn, such demonstrations will be held every 26th.
Rumors of Rakesh Tikait’s arrest spread
The news of Rakesh Tikait’s arrest started doing the rounds on social media. Many people were claiming his arrest. However, Rakesh Tikait himself and the Delhi Police have called the arrest a mere rumour. Rakesh Tikait has also tweeted the news of his arrest as misleading. Apart from this, he also said in a conversation with the news agency that the police have not arrested him. The police have taken a person named Yudhveer Singh and there was some confusion regarding the name.
