In his career so far, the actor Dilip Joshi has appeared in many movies & TV shows and played different kinds of characters. However, none of those come close to the role of Jethalal in Taarak Mehta ka ooltah chashmah.
He has seen much struggle in his life. He played many small roles in movies and despite having worked in big movies, he didn’t get the recognition he deserves. But, he never lost hope.
When Asit Kumar modi was about to produce TMKOC, he asked his friend, Dilip joshi to play the role of Champaklal. Because of working with Asit before, Dilip was quite friendly with him and told him that he might not be able to bring that character into life, but he can play his son, Jethalal’s role.
Since 2008, he has been playing this role, which has also won him numerous awards. It won’t be an exaggeration to say that Dilip Joshi and immortalized the character of Jetha lal.
Let’s talk about his debut in the industry. He began his acting journey with the movie “maine pyar kiya” in 1989 and later appeared in movies such as, hum aapke hain kon, fir bhi dil hai Hindustani, khiladi 420, humraz and more.
Dilip was born on May 26, 1968 in Gujrat. He was 40 when he got the role of Jethalal and this year he is celebrating his 53rd birthday.
