Even before this, an officer who came to participate in this event on Saturday was found to be Corona positive.

In fact, a total of three players, including two players living in the Olympic Games village, have been found to be covid-19 positive. This is the first time that the players living in the sports village have got the infection. But the organizers did not disclose the identities of those players. The third player is staying at the hotel designated for the games.

According to the list of positive cases of covid-19 released by the organizing committee here, During the day they found 10 cases. These include five people related to sports, a contractor and a journalist. According to the records of the committee, the number of covid cases related to sports has now reached 55. The organizers have not told whether the two infected players have been kept in the sports village itself or have been sent to segregation at some other place.
The first case of covid-19 was reported in game Village on Saturday. Confirming this, Tokyo 2020 CEO Toshiro Muto said, ‘The corona report of a foreign guest who came to attend the Games has come positive. His report came negative in the test done at the infected guest airport, but he was found positive in the test conducted at the athlete’s site on Friday. This guest infected with Corona has been isolated for 14 days.

It is noteworthy that on July 13, the sports village was opened. Every day there will be a corona test of the players in the sports village. Around 11,000 athletes are expected for the Olympics and about 4,400 for the Paralympics starting on August 24. A few days ago, due to the increasing cases of Corona, a state of emergency was imposed in Japan’s capital Tokyo, which will remain in force till August 22.
The Tokyo Olympics will be played behind closed doors due to the covid-19 pandemic. But on the other hand protests are also taking place in Japan regarding these games. On Saturday, International Olympic Committee (IOC) President Thomas Bach appealed to the Japanese people to support the Olympic Games.
Bach said, ‘Be it the Olympic Games or any other competition, they never have hundred percent support. In the circumstances during the pandemic, this discussion is becoming more important and more emotional. All we can do is try to get the attention of these people to gain their confidence in strict COVID measures.
