CBSE Board Exams are going to be held offline amid covid pandemic. Many students, teachers and even celebrities are trying to get the government to cancel the offline examinations. Also, the board has not even issued the admit cards yet.
Chief minister of Delhi, Arvind Kejriwal tweeted, “Some alternative methods could be thought of. Children can be promoted this time on the basis of either an online method or internal assessment. But CBSE exams should be cancelled”.
On the other hand, Central Board of Secondary Education is all yet to host the examinations. Dr. Sanyam Bhardwaj, controller of examination, said that they are in the final stage of holding the exams. He even said that they will not leave any stone unturned when it comes to the health safety of the students.
For a few days now, students have been demanding the education ministry to cancel the exams on Twitter using #cancelboardexams2021. To support students’ demand, Sonu sood posted a video on social media which went viral.
Even Rahul Gandhi said that because of rising cases of covid, this decision should be reconsidered. Also, Priyanka Gandhi wrote a letter to the education minister requesting him to cancel the examinations.
As per the current plan, the board exams are going to begin on May 4th. According to the issued date sheet by CBSE, Matric examinations will begin on May 4th and end on June 7th. Whereas, Senior secondary exams will begin on the same day as Matric exams but end on June 15th.
