He also mentioned that this pause gave their quarantine system the much-needed space to minimize the risk of COVID-19 getting out of quarantine into the community and having a third wave there.

This trial ban was put on May 3 due to the rising cases of Covid-19 in the country. And is now finally going off. The PM also informed that on Friday, a flight with medical supplies and equipment left Sydney for India.

This flight carried 1056 ventilators, 60 oxygen concentrators and other essential supplies. It adds to the more than 100 ventilators and 43 oxygen concentrators that Australia had sent last week. PM also added that the plane used to carry these supplies will then act as a Government-facilitated flight for Australians who are to return back from India. It will focus on the most vulnerable Australians.

PM shared that so far Australian has helped bringing 20,000 people back to Australia from India. Which included 38 government-facilitated flights.
