Action on Morgan and McCullum, making jokes on Indian accent

Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) franchise can take action on its captain Eoin Morgan and head coach Brendon McCullum. Morgan and McCullum are being accused of mocking the Indian accent. In fact, during a chat on social media in 2018, Morgan and England batsman Jos Buttler used ‘sir’ to make fun of Indian fans.
Later, former New Zealand captain Brendon McCullum also joined this chat. Some of the players involved have deleted the post, but screenshots of their conversation have already surfaced.

On this matter, KKR has made it clear that it will not tolerate remarks like racism. KKR CEO Venky Mysore told Cricbuzz, “As of now we do not have much information to take action in the matter. We want to know everything before reaching any conclusion. Then we make it clear that any such comment will not be tolerated. We have a policy of ‘Zero Tolerance’ towards this.”

There has been a ruckus on social media ever since such posts by Eoin Morgan and Jos Buttler have surfaced. The Board of Cricket in India (BCCI) has not yet given any response on this matter. There has been no statement from Jos Butler and Eoin Morgan.
On the other hand, the England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) has ordered an investigation into Morgan and Butler’s case after Ollie Robinson. The ECB had said, ‘We have been investigating the matter since last week. All the players who have made controversial remarks are being investigated. We have no place for these things here. Strict action will be taken against the culprits after the investigation is completed.”
